Did I ever mention I love me some big bold bright colors? Si! es true, although my clothing begs to differ. Most of the time you will find me wearing black with a small accent of color, but when it comes to my arte, it is on and crackin! Here are a few journal entries for a Journal swap I am participating in.
This one is my Ode to the Pop Life.
I made it out of my junk mail.
Lately, I have been playing around with graffiti styled backgrounds. I call this one,
"Graffiti Bloom" (I know, not too original)
I am going to be doing a tutorial on a similar technique soon!
the flower is made with modeling paste and actually is three dimensional.
Speaking of tutorials, I want to give a Humongous shot out to the following awesomely creative blog/websites for featuring my "Hand Dyed Art Scarf Tutorial"
Crafty Chica
Craft Gossip.com
I Love To Create.com
I so appreciate the love and I feel so very honored and humbled to be part of your sacred blogs and websites. (by the way, you gotta check out their sites! Pure Art YUM!
I shared today with one of my girlfriends, who by the way, is not into the social networking scene. I told her how excited I was because how I had some major features regarding my tutorial. She was happy for me, but she also said, in a slightly confused state, "but what's the point? Are you selling anything?. I laughed and said, no, no! I mean, I do sell a few items every once and a while, but it is just the fact that I inspired someone! I love sharing, and I love it when I get the lovely comments that someone was going to give one of my projects, "a go" and or especially when I get a comment that someone was going to do this with their child! She was like, "ohhhhhh" not fully grasping why I was I was so happy. lol. My husband is from the same school. He comes from a hard working family and everyone from his familia only sees value in doing something for "money". Don't get me wrong, I love making a living too, but I guess, for me, this is therapy and the need to create is inbred in me for life.
Whoops, sorry, there I go again..............
Bottom line,
Thank you all so much for visiting my lil corner of cyberspace.
