Graffiti Paint: Paint Party Friday!

Ooooh, it's another Paint Party Friday, and I was determined to play this week!  I have been crafting, sewing and painting like a fiend behind the scenes all week!  I have a big show I committed to this Saturday, and I wanted to make sure I had more than 10 items to sell!  Whatever I don't sell, I will post at my new Etsy store.  So if anything, this show put my arse in gear to make art!

These canvases that I am about to post will ultimately turn into handbags.  I started out with blank canvas, and then applied Gesso.  From there, I added multiple layers of paints, stencil, free form drawing and then sealed with a good varnish.  I will be lining the inside with fabric and sewing them up to Sacred handbags!

These are flowers I made with my scraps.

Besides Frida, I love me some Guadalupe!

This one is called Color Mi Vida

And this last one is called Corazon Graffiti

I got so much work left to do!   Yikes!
Have a great weekend everyone!  If you have a chance, I have a new art page on Facebook, feel free to visit and pimp out your blog, store, or fan page!
Sacred Yoli Designs Fan Page.
My new Etsy store.
I'll be vending at Sacramento Swing Time 2011, here in Sacramento! (on Saturday)

Great graffiti! I once tried this style with Alisa Burke workshop but didn't quite fit me. :) But I love seeing how other are doing it. :)

Love the Corazon Grafitti! It's wonderful!
Okay, I don't want to sound stupid but here goes...did you start with blank muslin or fabric with some color...as a self-taught person the obvious is not always obvious to me.
cheers dana

Good question!
I used Canvas. I bought mine at Joann's. I bought just plain white. Canvas is nice and sturdy for handbag making. :-)
